When the fog clears and the sun comes out in San Francisco, l grab my sunglasses, a blanket, and my dog and head to Dolores Park. If you’re already in the Mission, walk two blocks south to the park, and find a spot on the grass to enjoy the warm California sun and amazing views of the city skyline.

There’s something to do for everyone with a children’s playground, tennis and basketball courts, and picnic tables located all within the park. If you’re hungry, stop in at Bi-Rite Market just a block away for some fresh fruit, a bottle of wine and made-to-order sandwiches, and have a perfect picnic in the park.

Sit higher up the hill in the park to enjoy the views of San Francisco.

Stop at Bi-Rite Market – grab sandwiches and drinks to bring to the park.

Have a picnic in the park and enjoy the lively crowd around you.

To experience a true San Francisco summer day, visit Dolores Park in October when the sun is out and the weather is warm.

The best spots on the grassy hill are the ones with a view of the skyline. The park fills up fast, so bring a blanket and stake out a spot early to beat the crowd.
