Allow spectacular Spectra to light up your evening by the bay

At Marina Bay Sands, one can indulge in various activities such as sightseeing, shopping and dining. But did you know that there is something which you can do for free at MBS? Spectra – A Light & Water Show, is a 15-minute outdoor show that is displayed nightly over the water at the Event Plaza. 

Although my family and I have watched this a few times, we are always enthralled and captivated by the visually stunning symphony of fountain jets, shooting lasers, colourful projections and other effects. If you want to capture some good shots, be there early to secure a strategic spot as it can get extremely crowded especially on weekends!  

Apart from viewing the outdoor show up close at the Event Plaza, you can also enjoy the show if you sit al fresco at some restaurants such as Bazin - Bistro & Bar, Dallas Cafe & Bar, and JustIN Flavours of Asia. 

 

The show is a reflection of Singapore’s journey to becoming the cosmopolitan and sophisticated city it is today.

 

There is no “best” place to watch the outdoor show as it all depends on your personal preference. Other than catching it right at the Event Plaza, you can also park yourself anywhere opposite Marina Bay Sands to admire a panoramic view of the laser and light effects. 

 

Apart from the visual effects, the show is also accompanied by an orchestral soundtrack. 

 

Consisting of four acts, the final act is representative of Singapore’s dream of becoming a better and smarter nation.
