The architecture at Gyeongbukgung Palace is royally beautiful

Founded in 1935 and located in the heart of Seoul, Gwanghwamun Gate is the main gate of Gyeongbukgung Palace.

I personally love the beautiful architecture and the vivid patterns you can see on the roof and ceiling. You can also travel back in time and dress up like kings and queens from the dynasty era in a Hanbok (traditional Korean costume). It’s a very fun and memorable way to experience Korean tradition and heritage, and it’s Instagrammable too!

The palace also waives admission fees for visitors wearing a Hanbok, which can be rented from shops near Exit 4 of Gyeongbukgung Station.

Gwanghwamun Gate underwent restoration work from 2006-2010, and is now perfectly aligned to the main north-south axis of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
