If you have watched any films by the late Yasmin Ahmad, you would know that this filmmaking genius had a special way of telling stories. Her films typically touch on the everyday struggles of Malaysians in a humorous yet relatable way.
For this reason, she has cemented her place in many Malaysians’ hearts, including mine. If you are a fan of her work, or filmmaking in general, do stop by this creative playground that pays tribute to her work. Many of her masterpieces are on display; her films, her personal collection of photographs, print advertising materials, and even poetry.
My favourite part of the gallery is the old Mac that once belonged to her which contains the original scripts for her most famous work, 'Sepet'.
The museum holds special exhibitions from time to time. So, be sure to check out their programme schedules when you are in town.
