Mercer Hotel is for those who appreciate historical culture. What makes this hotel special is that it has been constructed on top of Roman ruins from the 4th century. Original stone walls, towers and frescos were conserved, and you can even find these in some rooms!

Here, the old is integrated harmoniously with a contemporary minimalist design, thanks to famous Spanish architect Rafael Moneo.

This five-star boutique hotel has 28 rooms spread over 3 floors, and it’s ideal for travellers who want to rest in an exclusive, quiet and cosy space. During my stay, I felt as if I were in an old Roman bath, just enjoying the peace and calmness of the entire place. But regardless of whether you are there for work or play, you will enjoy the restful and private environment.

The hotel has many amenities provided for your comfort, such as a meeting room you can use at your convenience, a library with desktop computers and printer for use as if you were in your own office. On the rooftop, you can relax in the swimming pool and bar surrounded by colourful flowers and beautiful views of the city. There, you will also be able to see the top tower of the Cathedral and many other places.

I was amazed to find these original roman frescos from the 4th century in the meeting room.
