Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is an elephant village that supports the ethical and sustainable raising of elephants.

It is a unique experience for those who would like to know more about these gentle giants, as well as how they are taken care of at the sanctuary.

There are two half-day elephant programmes (morning and afternoon) to choose from. These are led by English-speaking guides who will not just take you through the activities, but also tell you about each elephant's behaviour and history.

Do remember to bring along a swimsuit, towel and change of clothes though, as the programme involves showering and playing with them in the water after their 'mud spa'!

If you don't wish to get wet, there's also a feeding programme that allows you to prepare supplementary food for the elephants consisting of beneficial vitamins and herbs.

The elephants here are friendly and well taken care of. They also understand human language and are usually in a good mood, especially when you bring them food!
