Enjoy the quiet calm of London's only freshwater lake, Canada Water

Canada Water is a freshwater lake and wildlife refuge in Rotherhithe in the Docklands in south-east London. This area looks like as a little city built on water in Scandinavian style.

You can also view Canary Wharf on the other side of the River Thames. Did you know that I put down the first brick to these skyscrapers when I was a little boy? Very proud of it!

There are contemporary sculptures around and the place is usually very quiet, so you can spend some time walking around in the residential areas, especially on a Sunday.

You can also take water transport from here and get to Westminster or Waterloo so much faster than on the road. Plus, you can view the whole waterside London at the same time.
