The Tilden Hotel is a sophisticated, mid-century modern style hotel located just a couple blocks away from Union Square and San Francisco’s best shopping district. In the lobby is The Douglas Room, a speakeasy-style bar and restaurant. Opposite the lobby is the Tilden Café, a perfect place to start the day with locally-sourced coffee and freshly made pastries.

The Tilden is also a staple of the San Francisco community, as it uses its space to spotlight emerging local artists. I especially love that the lobby also serves as an art gallery. Every two months, there’s even a reception called ‘Tilden Tuesdays’, when hotel guests and members of the community can engage with the artists.

I recommend the Tilden Hotel, for its location and its inspiring connection to the city and its artists. If you’re downtown, stop in for a coffee, a cocktail or to admire the latest art installation.

Relax in the lobby – designed to feel ‘residential’ so you’ll feel right at home.

Mid-century modern décor and the work of local artists fill the colourful and minimalist lobby.

Wake up and smell the coffee at the Tilden Café, conveniently located in the hotel lobby.

Part hotel, part art gallery, Tilden Hotel supports local artists by featuring their work in the lobby – like this mannequin art by artist and musician, Chris Cook.
