L’Hôtel Particulier Montmartre has charmed many a celebrity

This is where I go when I want to get away from it all; it’s almost like being in the countryside. Perched on a quiet street above Montmartre, this aristocratic townhouse used to belong to the Hermès family, and you’ll quickly understand why. 

Set in a delightful, unexpected garden, this hotel is so peaceful and secluded that you’ll swear you’re not in Paris anymore – even though the neighbourhood is technically one of the most touristy on Earth. This probably explains why Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson were charmed into staying in one of their 5 suites.

I’ve never stayed there myself, but I love to come for a drink, a long and lazy weekend brunch, or dinner to celebrate a special occasion in what is definitely one of the most romantic spots in town.

Montmartre is like a village, but it includes a handful of very cute yet very expensive houses.

 

Since the hotel is set in a house, it features its own private hidden entrance along a narrow street of Montmartre.
