Piazza Navona is a square that is an oval

Piazza Navona is the most beautiful baroque square in Rome. It stands where the Stadium of Domitian once stood, and the ‘square’ today shares the same oval shape. One of the features of this square is that during the day, you will find many artists and painters who crowd Piazza Navona with their open-air ateliers.

Walking in this square also allows you to admire the works of Bernini and Borromini including the Fontana dei Fiumi and the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone. If you want to create fantastic photos, you must be brave and wake up at dawn – seeing Piazza Navona completely empty is a beautiful sight you won't regret!
