The lavender fields at Farm Tomita are a must-sea in Hokkaido

Trust me when I say this is the perfect place to get lost in a sea of flowers.

Tokuma Tomita first planted flowers here over one hundred years ago, and in the 1950s, they began growing lavender for its oil. Business was good for a while, until other countries started growing it too and demand fell.

They got another break when the train company JR introduced their lavender fields in a calendar. Then, many flocked from near and far to visit. There’s no entrance fee to this beautiful place either, which makes it even more of a must-see destination in Hokkaido!
