Touted as the best French bakery in Singapore, Tiong Bahru Bakery has recently launched its sixth branch, which is the Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari outlet that you ought to visit!

Nestled in the hills of Dempsey with its own private car park and a small outdoor playground, the 46-seater safari-themed space came about after Ms Cynthia Chua, founder of Tiong Bahru Bakery, got inspired by her trip to the African safari in Botswana.

Savour piping hot croissants and a cup of coffee under the giant canvas in glamping style – it certainly feels very wild! Although it can get quite crowded over the weekends, my family and I enjoy the food and atmosphere at Tiong Bahru Bakery while the kids are always happy to spend some time at the playground.

Step right in and you will find that the interior screams safari with rustic wooden furniture, rope-lined pillars and Kilim carpets that were brought in from the Middle East.

It’s all in the details! Safari-themed bric-a-brac and other ornaments are a contribution from Cynthia’s travels around the world.

Pretty interesting to look at all the framed butterfly taxidermy on display.

On to the menu! Besides the usual offerings that can be found at the other outlets, Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari has an exclusive menu that features caffeine-free lattes made from plants harvested from its own garden!

Croissants are freshly baked every two hours! If you have a sweet tooth, I would highly recommend paying a bit more for the matcha almond croissant, otherwise you are better off sticking to their classic plain croissant. Pair it with a vanilla pea latte which comes in a beautiful shade of blue!
