Time to raise the bar for cocktails when you bar-hop in Taipei

Taipei is a city that never sleeps – the night life in Taipei is lively and it has some of the best bars in Asia. 

A personal favourite of mine is the R&D cocktail lab located in the Xinyi District. The place is hidden without any signage outside, just simply a grey door. When you open the door, it seems like you are entering a completely different world. 

Since it is a speakeasy bar, there is no drink/cocktail menu. Tell the bartenders what you're in the mood for, and they will come up with a concoction for you. They are willing to craft amazing drinks from scratch, depending on what sort of booze or taste you are after. 

Hanko 60, a cool hidden spot in Ximending; west of Taipei. Their drinks are often infused with many local ingredients and elements such as tea vodka served in traditional Chinese teaware.

 

The drinks at R&D Cocktail Lab are just excellent! The bartenders definitely know what they are doing and the interior has a Chinese style to it, which is very unique.
