Phuket is well-known for its Peranakan culture and Sino-Portuguese styled buildings. I’d like to recommend this 44-room boutique hotel as it is great value for money.
A 10-minute drive from Phuket’s Old Town, this cosy place received the Thailand Boutique Award 2016-17 in the Design City Hotel category. The first thing you see when you enter is the local style of decoration – from the floor tiles to the wooden furniture. They are mostly original artwork created by local artists.
Little Nyonya means a little girl in the Peranakan language, which is used by locals of Southeast Asia including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the southern part of Thailand.
The hotel is owned by a Phuket Thai-Peranakan family whose history dates back over 200 years. They wanted to promote their culture through the architecture and hospitality of this hotel. Great facilities are ready for guests, from a striking swimming pool to a classic library. Walking around the hotel is simply a joy.
There are 3 room types – superior, deluxe, and suite. The superior room has standard decorations, the deluxe room has a bathtub next to the bed, and the suite has a balcony with a bathtub outside. I can say this is a romantic hotel suitable for couples or honeymooners.
The best thing is that the price is affordable, starting at 40-50 USD per night. This is no doubt one of the best value-for-money hotels you can find in Phuket. Moreover, a short ride will bring you to the centre of Phuket’s Old Town or beaches.
Tip: Select a room on the pool side if you prefer a nice view or on the garden side if you prefer privacy.
