Just up the road from where we live is a quaint little settlement that you can visit to see how life was back in the 1800s. Set on a seven-acre site, you can take a stroll around the village for a very reasonable admission price. There are about thirty-odd original buildings that consist of cottages, schools, churches and other interesting buildings from that era.

There is a children's museum where you can play with old toys of the time, and even a dress-up box if you have children with you. On the last Sunday of every month, the village comes alive with people dressing in period costumes and lots of fun interactive things to do, such as attending a lesson in the classroom or riding in a horse and cart.

We love strolling around here and it has a café to get a refreshment after if you need, as well as a little shop to pick up some token souvenirs.

Checking out the old girls-school classroom.

Dress up your kid at the Children's Museum and see the village come to life on the last Sunday of the month.

Period re-enactments taking place.
