Suite dreams are made of these at Maryoo Samui Hotel

If you are looking for a different experience to the usual beachfront resort/hotel in Koh Samui, Maryoo Samui Hotel should be high on your list of options – and I say that not just because it's situated near the mountains in the North Chaweng Beach area.

Its location between Choengmon and Chaweng means you get the best of both worlds, because you get the tranquility of the mountains, yet remain close enough to the beaches.

The hotel's low-rise buildings feature a simple white with black accent colour scheme, with all 47 suites offering a choice of sea, mountain or pool view from the room's balcony.

Wooden slats have also been weaved into the hotel's design to fully maximise the windflow throughout the hotel. This makes for a cooling stroll, but be careful if you're wearing a dress that day!

Each well-appointed suite is tastefully furnished with the consistent use of whites, browns and greys creating an inviting atmosphere.

Those who like to fall asleep with the television on at night might be slightly disappointed to find that the television is in the 'living room area'. But I think being able to wake up to a great view of the sea, mountain or pool more than makes up for it.

With the king-sized beds in each suite facing the balcony and the gorgeous views beyond, I highly recommend booking the Ocean View Suite so you can wake up to a beautiful sea view every morning!
