In Gunung Rapat, a relatively quiet part of Ipoh town, there is a calm body of water hidden by the surrounding limestone karst formations.
This place is called Mirror Lake, also known as Tasik Cermin among the locals. The still water surface creates an almost-perfect reflection of its surroundings, especially on bright and sunny days. Hence, the conception of its name. The sight is simply breathtaking which makes it a popular spot for those in the know.
To get to the lake, you need to pass through a small limestone cave that feels almost like a secret passage that opens up to a serene oasis.
I personally enjoy visiting after the rain, as the misty clouds enveloping the area adds to the mysterious vibe of this deep dark lake. The quietness and peacefulness of the lake makes this place feel so magical and surreal.
Pro tip: Make sure to wear comfortable shoes when coming here as the gravel path may not be heels-friendly.
