Every weekend I love to chill and enjoy the sun on the terraces of Barceloneta Beach with some friends. There are always street musicians performing, which always cheers me up and helps me disconnect from the stress of the city.
Some of my favourite beach terraces that offer great food and drinks are: Salt, Surf House, Zumito, Maka-Maka, Mamarosa, Bestial, and CDLC. If you are a fan of beach volleyball like me, you can head over to Icaria Beach, where there are many volley nets and you can join in a game if you’re in the mood.
All Barcelona beaches are jam-packed during the summertime, but there is a beach closer to the W Hotel that tends to be less crowded and much cleaner.
If you fancy a party after a day at the beach, there is a famous Wet Deck Terrace party every Sunday at W Hotel. Do bear in mind that there’s a dress code (elegant) for this party, and people in sneakers and flip flops will not be allowed entry. So, it might be a good idea to head back to your hotel to shower and dress up before heading for the party.
I also love pool parties, like the ones held at Meliá Barcelona Sky every weekend from 3pm to 10pm with guest DJs. Sometimes they even have giant inflatables that you can play within the pool!

I used to go to Icaria beach to play beach volleyball. It’s always crowded with players of different skill levels – from the ones who play just for fun to the highest level of competition.
The Wet Deck Terrace party at W Hotel is the perfect plan for Sunday; the place to be if you want to dance to the best DJ sessions with a sunset beach view, surrounded by palm trees. The parties usually run from 6pm till midnight.
Pool parties take place on the Meliá Barcelona Sky terrace every weekend, which is also one of my favourite things to do in the summertime.
