You can't miss this sleek standalone spot with its gleaming, double-height glass façade - even amidst the hip dining haven of Ekkamai. Designed by local studio space+craft, Kaizen's interiors ooze dark sophistication with grey brick patterns, natural finish oak, and warm golden lighting. Behind the textured brick counter, young barista Arnun Wattanaporn brews up filter coffee classics and more experimental nitro cold brews. Snag a slice of their quinoa sourdough, and head up to the second level for uninterrupted city views.

The quaint lovechild of a coffee shop and a florist, Wallflowers Cafe is a lush oasis in the heart of Bangkok’s Chinatown. Bunches of colourful blooms from downstairs neighbour Oneday Wallflowers sneak their way into the second-floor cafe, vying for attention with shelves of vintage knick-knacks and chandeliers crafted from test-tubes. Get into the whimsical spirit with fresh-brewed signatures like fizzy espressos and blossom-infused mocktails. Their cakes are a feast for the eyes too, each delightfully crowned with edible flowers and fresh fruits.

After your artsy exploration round the Bangkok Art &anmp; Culture Centre (BACC), fuel up with a cuppa at Gallery Drip Coffee. This ground-floor café is as much a work of art as the galleries around it, with a curvaceous honeycomb ceiling and retro coffee-themed décor. As you might guess, drip coffee is the name of the game here. The owners have forged close relationships with single-origin producers in northern Thailand, though they bring in beans from select spots like Kenya too. More impressively, they roast and hand-brew the beans themselves – half the magic is watching the slow pour-over process right before your eyes.

Owned by a pair of American coffee lovers, La Mesa brings a slice of New Mexico to the buzzy Udom Suk 'hood. The coffeehouse's chic interiors come inspired by New Mexico's deserts, with sunrise pink walls and succulents in every corner. Striking arches set in the wall offer cosy nooks to sit and sip on strawberry coffee mocktails or exotic signatures like the Mayan Mocha – an orange-kissed cuppa with a fiery kick of chili and spices. They sizzle up a range of rustic Mexican eats too, from cheesy burritos to an egg-packed Cowboy Skillet.

One of Bangkok's hottest spots for coffee geeks, Factory Coffee is home to an all-star team of national barista champs, helmed by founder Srettakarn Veerakultevon. Despite the name, your caffeine experience here will be far from run-of-the-mill. Their sprawling brew selection runs the gamut from seasonal house blends to locally sourced, single-origin beans. If you're picky about processing methods, they'll even specify if the beans are natural, washed, anaerobic slow dried, and more. This is the place to toss back an espresso-and-tonic; if you're feeling fancy, sip on the caramel-laced Supreme served in a wine glass.

Stepping into Featherstone feels a bit like being teleported into Hogwarts – topped off with a sprinkling of Parisian whimsy. This eclectic space cultivates a bit of a mystical air; the boutique glitters with vintage trinkets and healing crystals, while the café looks straight out of a fairytale palace with its stained-glass windows and ornate chandeliers. Behind the apothecary-like bar, baristas busily whip up single-origin coffees from South America. But it's their famed sodas that you can't miss out on – add a shot of gin to these colourful concoctions for a fruity refresher.

Tucked away in Central Embassy, this tranquil gem is ideal for long chats over a good (if pricy) cuppa. Launched by the owner of a coffee plantation in Chiang Dao, Coffeeology's beans all come harvested from his farm and roasted in-house for a true seed-to-cup experience. Signature brews here include White Cloud, an iced latte crowned with a fluffy meringue; they serve up custard buns that prove every bit as airy too. Marble counters and a stunning geometric centrepiece complete the swanky experience.

Chance upon this Saladaeng coffeehouse and you might mistake it for a bar, were it not for its raw brick walls and breezy palette of whites. Half a dozen taps line the counter, pumping out cups of joe – but don't expect your conventional caffeine. Eureka is known for getting adventurous with their latte concoctions and nitro cold brews, and you'll find caramel-laced Salted Egg Latte and Papaya White Chocolate Cold Brew among their highly aesthetic offerings. Up for funkier fare? We recommend the Durian Iced Tea – a sinfully creamy blend of durian ice-cream and Thai milk tea fresh from the tap.

With its glasshouse façade nestled in a lush garden, Sometimes I Feel is an oasis in the urban jungle of Sukhumvit. Launched by owner Jay, his wife, and his best friend, the cuppas here are designed to draw out the delicate flavours in each type of coffee bean – by throwing in a little twist of their own. Think zesty Orangepressos, cold brews infused with pandan, and even a soda espresso shake that bursts with passionfruit. With interiors that recall an art collector's home, we could happily cosy up all day here.

Instagram influencers and coffee geeks alike love this spot for their stellar brews and minimalist style inspired by Japan's Teshima Art Museum. Their single-origin beans are sourced from top roasters around the world, ground by hand, then prepared with Aeropress, Chemex, and drip methods. They aren't shy about getting playful either, as evidenced by their zingy coffee kombucha fermented from drip coffee. And for that monochrome pop of style, they serve their white coffee in black cups and black brews in white cups.
