This converted military airfield turned park is where I go when I want to spend some time outdoors by the water. Crissy Field boasts one of the best views of both the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island, and has a variety of outdoor activities.

The trails that wind through the park give visitors the option to easily walk, jog or bike, while the beach is the best place to sit and watch the kite surfers, kayakers, and sailboats float by.

Conveniently, the park leads right up to the walking path of the Golden Gate Bridge, so you can literally walk across the Bay. It’s also one of the most dog-friendly spots in the city so if you love animals, this is a great place to meet some new four-legged furry friends.

Walk down from the Golden Gate Bridge to the park and get an amazing view of the city skyline along the way.

Rent bikes and ride along the pathways through the park by the water.

Sit on the beach and watch sailboats and kite surfers float by.

Whether it’s sunny or foggy, the views of the Golden Gate Bridge from Crissy Field are one-of-a-kind. Don’t forget to bring your jacket as it can get chilly.

Choose from many activities in Crissy Field, including an indoor trampoline park, rock climbing gym, and a large open field for a game of pickup soccer.
