Kumoya is the first pop-up cafe in Singapore that specialises in changing its theme every few months. When Kumoya first opened its doors in October 2016, its main emphasis was on handcrafting French-Japanese inspired desserts such as pancakes, plated parfaits and karafuru.
In May 2017, the cafe was closed for a week for retrofitting and the rest was history. Kumoya started off with a Cinnamoroll-themed interior décor and menu, which was a hit with many, attracting about 5,000 to 6,000 patrons in a month. Since then, Kumoya has been home to many other well-loved characters like Miffy, Care Bears, Tokidoki, Mr Men & Little Miss, My Little Pony, Pusheen, and now, Snoopy.
It has been very successful as both the space and menu are revamped each time, with plenty of thought and details poured in to create an authentic experience. People who like taking photos of food will be pleased to know that the drinks and food at Kumoya are definitely Instagram-worthy.
My family is a huge fan of themed cafes like this, so we always look forward to seeing what Kumoya has in store every few months. We also like that there are various types of merchandise and memorabilia for sale at the cafe. Our kids, in particular, never fail to be amazed and excited by the change of themes every few months.
I’m personally a huge fan of Tokidoki and stepping into this place made me feel like my heart would explode!
Who knew that unagi sushi could look this good?!
Green and pink buns to match the Tokidoki characters Sandy and Polpettina. Told you it’s all in the details!
Desserts are even prettier in my opinion and you can’t go wrong with ice cream and waffles.
Gotta take a photo with my favorite Tokidoki character, Donutella!
