Vietnam’s quest for abolishment of slavery began at Nha Rong Harbor

Located at the gateway to the commercial port in Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Rong Harbor was the place where Ho Chi Minh, the first President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, once left the city to rescue the country from slavery and bring freedom to the people of Vietnam. 

Then, it was also known as the “Pearl of the Far East”. In 1995, it became the Ho Chi Minh Museum, and still is today. 

I like to come here for some peace and quiet in the afternoon, and sometimes to look at the exhibitions about Uncle Ho’s life, as he is regarded as the ‘father of Vietnam’.

Past the main gate, you'll see many pictures and historical accounts on the walls in the lobby.

From the balcony, I can see Bach Dang River. To be honest, this is one of the best places to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere in the afternoon. On a particularly quiet day, I can also hear the sound of wind.
