This place isn’t actually in Tokyo, but I’m sharing it because I love this place very much. Plus, it’s just a 45-minute train ride from Tokyo.
A gallery on the first floor showcases the history of ramen, including the success of instant ramen, from the variety of noodles and soups, to the toppings and bowls used across Japan.
The basement features 1:1 replica of streets and houses of Shitamachi, or Old Tokyo, around 1958, when the popularity of ramen was increasing. There are nine ramen restaurants here, where you can try both regular and mini-sized tasting portion versions of each restaurant’s offerings.
