There are many museums in Barcelona, but the one no one should miss is MNAC. For me, this museum is the most impressive of them all, and it comes with amazing views of the city.
"One museum, a thousand years of art” is the slogan of the National Museum, and the collection provides a dizzying overview of Catalan art encompassing all art disciplines (sculpture, painting, drawing, engraving, photography, etc.) from the 12th to the 20th centuries.
The extensive collection covers everything from the Romanesque period to modern times and even the avant-garde, and features works by artists such as El Greco, Velázquez, Fortuny, Gaudí, Casas, Dalí and Picasso.
If you hang around late enough, there is a musical lightshow in front of MNAC at the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc from Wednesdays to Sundays from 9.30pm – 10pm during summer.
If you feel like shopping, in the main square of Plaza España there is the Las Arenas shopping centre, which is also perfect for snapping beautiful pictures from its rooftop, which has unbeatable views of Montjuïc.
The majestic Catalan National Art Museum (MNAC) on Montjuïc – beautiful both in the day and at night. Its surroundings are perfect for running, so you can take the scenic route and enjoy a workout with a view!
The show at the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc is an experience for all senses. The music and the lighting effects will blow your mind away.
The shopping mall at Las Arenas was originally a bullring. You can admire stunning views of the city from its rooftop.
View from the rooftop – you can see Plaza España (Spain Square), the twin Venetian towers at the entrance of Fira Barcelona (an exhibition centre), and MNAC at the end.
