Sagrada Familia is majestic both up close and from afar

I never get tired of admiring the beauty of Sagrada Familia, which is to Barcelona what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris. Its majestic exterior and interior are masterpieces from every angle.

Inside, you will also find an interesting exhibition area where they explain the construction history of this monument designed by Gaudí. Be sure not to miss it at night when the façade is lit up in a kaleidoscope of colours – a real treat for the senses!

Sagrada Familia is worth seeing from different angles. The perspective from the park side of Marina Street gives you a picturesque reflection of the building in the water that is framed by the trees.

The northern facade of Sagrada Familia is a representation of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Christ. It features a combination of cubist and modernist styles.

Every architectural detail of the Sagrada Familia is mesmerising. This wonderfully designed dome is an example of great architecture.

The bell towers pinnacles are dedicated to the bishops and are made up of episcopal insignia: the hole symbolises the ring, the shape of the pinnacles is a symbol of a staff, and the top is the mitre (bishop’s hat) with a cross on it.
