Pedestrians are king on Bui Vien Walking Street on weekends

Located in the heart of the city’s ‘backpacker’s area’, Bui Vien Walking Street officially became a pedestrians-only street on weekends in August 2017. Previously, it was just known as the Western District, as there were many foreigners in the area. 

My friends and I enjoy coming here just to soak in the atmosphere, especially when there are performances on the streets. It’s also a great area for taking photos, so make sure you come here with your camera. The best time to visit the area is on weekends between 6pm and 2am! 

I’m not exaggerating when I say that Bui Vien is a ‘street of light’. The dynamic atmosphere, as well as the range of cuisines, really attracts both foreigners and local people. 

 

You may find some cyclo drivers (three-wheel bicycle taxis) on the street and have a ride if you wish.

 

At almost every corner of Bui Vien Street, you’ll see people taking a break for some refreshments after a tiring walk. This pub is at the corner of Bùi Viện Street and Đề Thám Street. I think this is one of the best places for having some beers with your friends.

 

Such an ideal place for avid photographers to wake up their creativity and imagination. I bet everyone loves the bright lights here! 

 

Bui Vien Walking Street in the day is a different experience altogether. Sometimes I like to wander around the area from 3pm to 5pm, when it’s usually quiet.
