When I was growing up, I used to go camping with my family. It consisted of flies, mosquitoes, sleeping on rocky ground and being surrounded by bush. The bags we slept in were uncomfortable, the nights usually sticky and hot. Needless to say, I avoided camping for a long time as an adult!

However, recently I tried Soul Camping in Yallingup, which is a three-hour drive from Perth. It’s so luxurious and totally lives up to the ‘glamping’ reputation with its plush queen-sized beds, pillows, table, lamp and rug.

It’s a wonderful experience to sleep outdoors especially in the warmer months, so you get to really soak up being out and about in nature. While it doesn’t have the creature comforts you might get with a hotel stay, it’s something you need to tick off the bucket list for sure.

Inside your tepee is a spacious and cute setup.

They call it ‘glamourous camping’ (glamping) and for good reason.

By night, it’s time to zip up and go to sleep in utter comfort.
