Set in front of Central Koh Samui near Phru Chaweng Garden, Chaweng Night Market takes place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening.

It's a great place to get a wide variety of food ranging from Thai favourites to international delights at low prices, making it a favourite with both locals and tourists alike.

There are many handicrafts on offer here, including handmade items such as these beautiful coconut shell lights.

It's also a good place to pick up souvenirs for yourself or your loved ones – like these intricately carved monkeys with a range of expressions to choose from.

The food zone is what most people visit for. Enjoy a delicious and refreshing treat before you tour the market or after dinner in the form of an ice-cold fruit shake!

Don't forget to make space for this traditional snack, which are usually served as appetisers. It's a rice cracker treat with dough wrapped around a mix of pork, coriander root and seasoning, and typically served with coriander and fresh chili.

For me, the best part of this Walking Street was the myriad food choices. On one hand, there were the usual suspects like noodles and fried chicken. But there were also rare offerings – like these grilled skewers made of fish meat mixed with curry paste and seasoned with bergamot and lentils.
