Whether it’s your first visit to a country, or you’ve been there a few times previously – it can sometimes be a challenge to find new and unique experiences. But how about approaching it a different way – by seeking out what locals do instead. After all, who better to tell you what truly represents a place than its own people who know the place inside out?
Naturally, one of the first places to check out would be The Travel Insider, because you’d have a tough time finding this many local recommendations anywhere else. So skip the beaches in Bali and hang out with the locals instead – with this list from travel blogger Anggey (@her_journeys) and her followers comprising their must-eat, must-see, must-do and must-stay places and activities!
Actually, there’s so many places to eat with delicious food, but I recommend Nook because I just really love the ambience and selection of food there. If I’m planning to meet some friends, Nook is the first thing that comes to mind!

I fell in love with this place when I went there the first time. Although it’s far, this place is so gorgeous and super clean.

Savana Tianyar in Karang Asem – because the morning sun here is very different from the usual sunrise spot! You get the view with Mt. Agung as the background. If you're lucky, you can find a spot similar to Leh Ladakh in India.

Leke Leke Waterfall is one of the hidden gems of the North. It’s one of my fav waterfalls in Bali. I love the surroundings; the weather is chilly and so comfy. The waterfall stream is not so big so it’s great for swimming.

Where else is the most comfortable place besides enjoying the combination of the views of Lake Batur & Mount Abang while soaking in a hot spring pool whose original hot water is from Mount Batur. Yup! Toya Devasya is the place. They have a couple of hot springs that make you feel at home from the morning. But the best one is the infinity pool which directly faces Lake Batur. It's so near it feels like we are swimming directly in the lake.

One of my fav staycation hotels in Bali, Gravity Eco Boutique Hotel is super cosy, chill, comfy, clean, and cute! The staff is super friendly, so much love for this hotel!

First time at Sun Sang Eco Village, wow ... wow ... wow ... there is an amazing place like this with pocket-friendly prices. Choose to stay in Sunsang's River View Suite – it’s a very nice room. The two-storey building is made of bamboo – the first floor has a kitchen, relaxing place, dining table and a bathroom. The spacious room on the second floor has a work desk, mosquito net, and a balcony facing the river, which almost feels like your own private one. Unique bamboo lodgings in Bali are expensive on average; this is the affordable version that’s just as good. If you have a dog you can bring it here, because they are pet friendly.
